The sugar maple occasionally exhibits the birdseye grain but this form of blistering is much more rare. As well, this is an outstanding example of the beauty so often hidden. In fact this is likely the most dramatically figured example of this wood I have every seen. The surface of the log underneath the bark has a blistered look but from the outer bark there is little if any sign of the interesting figure of the wood. The darker legs in walnut add a pleasing contrast and bring out the grain of the top. The approximate size is 48" x 28".
